PEERSWICK TOO GOOD
Sprinters Left Struggling
The hot favourite, Peers wick, proved too good for th< sprinters in the Farewell Han dicap. A feature of the rac< was the finishing run o Peerswick’s stablemate, Dec tor Barry, which came hom< with a withering run after be Ing awkwardly placed in th< middle of the field until th< final furlong. Peerswick’s win qualifier him for the £l2OO Johns Han dicap at the New Brighter meeting next Saturday. Peerswick began brilliantly and trailed Dlepne early. H« took the lead with seven fur longs and a half left and although Dieppe made a game effort in the straight, Peerswick had too much in reserve and won by a length. Dieppe was two lengths in front of Thunder Royal, which was never far away. Smoke Screen finished boldly for fourth another length away with a head to Doctor Barry Then came Cloudage, which had trouble working clear. Uno Command and Glenurquhart Quesnel, Wendy Dawn, Bellajilly, Lakeda and Jilaire lost ground at the start.
