TREMORS IN S. AUSTRALIA
Power Cut At Woomera (N.Z. Press Assn.— Copyright) ADELAIDE. August 29. Severe earth tremors rocked a wide area of South Australia on Saturday. Buildings were shaken, floors moved, and startled residents ran into streets. The tremors were felt on a 200-mile wide front from Peterborough across Spencer Gulf to Klmba, and from Port Pirie north to Hawker, a distance of 100 miles.
The Quorn district had its worst tremors for nearly 60 years. Woomera’s power supply was cut for 11 minutes.
