SUSPECT PAUAS
Recovery By Police
(N.Z. Press Association) ROTORUA, August 29. Pauas were piling up today in the Rotorua police station after a radio appeal by health authorities. It is suspected that quantities of the shellfish sold in Rotorua over the week-end came from a polluted part of Wellington harbour. Several packages of pauas had been handed in tonight, and other purchasers had reported that they had destroyed pauas they had bought. The police said charges were pending against a man alleged to have brought the pauas from Wellington to sell in Rotorua.
Shot Dead.—A British police superintendent, Harry F. Barrie, was shot dead in Aden today by unknown attackers.—Aden, August 29.
