ANOTHER GATE at the Department of Agriculture’s irrigation research station at Winchmore which is fitted with an automatic opening device. At the right of the gate is a trailing leg which holds the gate back when it swings open. The metal leg, which fits snugly against the end of the gate when not in use, was developed by Mr J. A. Gray, a shepherd at the station, who is seen with the gate.
