N.Z. Stocks Still Weak As Trading Ends
New Zealand issues were still weak at the close of trading yesterday but overseas stocks came into balance. Motor distributors were among falls in the New Zealand list. Manthel lost 9d to 26s 9d, Motor Specialties 6d to 15s 3d and Porter Motors 9d to 28s. Among breweries Dominion, New Zealand, and Tui eased. Advances by New Zealand shares took in Burnetts ex dividend, Farmers’ Trading, Henderson and Pollard rights, and Sanford rights. Among Australian shares Australian Consolidated Industries rose 4d to 49s 9d ex dividend, .B.H.P. recovered 6d to 44s 6d, while Cox Brothers at Is 4d and Waltons at 8s 5d each gained Id.
