Fendalton Bridge Corner

Sir, —As a woman driver who has used this intersection on innumerable occasions, I think the camber on the road is the least of any worries. Improving this would not solve the confusion at peak periods. A roundabout would resolve bothythe traffic congestion and improve the camber. Surely a certain amount of road reconstruction is necessary when laying a roundabout. Both Mr Stewart and the chairman of the Progress League must surely admit the roundabout at the intersection of Harper avenue and Riccarton road is the perfect solution to what was a great traffic problem—thanks to Miss Mary McLean for her initiative.—Yours, etc., BETTY E. GOULDEN. August 26, 1965.
