Own Record.—The American swimmer, Martha Randall, beat her own 400 metres freestyle world record with a time'of 4min 3S.osec during a match between France and the United States in Monaco on Thursday. Won By T.K.O.— The Thailand boxer. Sing Tong Por Tor (Sst 71b) beat the Australian bantamweight champion. Noel Kunde (Sst 81b) on a technical knockout in the eighth round tn Brisbane on Thursday night. Kunde retired with gashes above both his eyes when he was well ahead on points. Winter Games.— -New Zealand skiers likely to take part in the unofficial Commonwealth Winter Games at St. Moritz. ■ Switzer land, in January include P. P Goldstern (Wellington), all four members of the New Zealand women's team which recently defeated Australia. Misses K Guy (Canterbury). A. Reid <Otago). J. Shiel (Otago), and P.
