(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, August 28. The average price of 40.86 d per pound returned at the opening wool sale of the 1965-66 Auckland selling season was the highest in Auckland since the November fixture. However, although 3.33 d above the average price at the closing sale of the 1964-65 season, it was appreciably below the 47.50 d returned at the last winter sale. The total cheque from the sale was £1,099,469, or £59 14s 4d a bale. At the last wintet sale, the cheque of £632,996 was equal to £69 6s a bale.
