Cooking Wine

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 25. The managing-director of a wine company considers the time is approaching when legislation could be passed to allow the sale of cooking wine for grocers’ shelves. The suggestion was made in a letter to the Statutes Revision Committee today. “It would be, of course, only cooking wine, labelled as sueh, and of a low grade quality, unsuitable for domestic drinking,** the letter said. “Naturally legislation would have to be passed strictly to control such a proposed outlet.” The firm said many women’s associations were today asking wine makers or those connected with the wine industry to address them on cooking with wine.
