(N.Z. Press Association) NELSON, August 25. Canterbury was much too strong for West Coast at Nelson today and won 12-1, taking the lead after the fifth round of the South Island under-12 soccer tournament.

The Canterbury scorers were: M. Davison (4). D. Dempsey. D Mansbridge <3>. N. Francis. M Lananze, P Cullen (1). A. Fraser goaled for West Coast.

Positions, with two rounds to play are: Canterbury 10. Nelson Blue and Otago S. Nelson White 6. Southland 4. Marlborough and South Canterbury 2. and West Coast 0.

Today's results were: Nelson White 3, South Canterbury 1; Nelson Blue 6, Southland 1; Otago 8, Marlborough 0; Canterbury 12. West Coast 1. NELSON LEADING

With one round to be played, the Nelson team has a com manding lead in the South Island under-14 soccer tournament being played at Dunedin Today's results:
