MISHAP ON LAST TRIP
Scow Aground, Refloated (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 22. The scow, Echo, which went aground at the mouth of the Wairau river shortly after midnight this morning, was refloated at 12.30 p.m. The vessel came off under her own power and there was no damage. The Echo arrived at Blenheim about 3.45 p.m. Several hundred persons were there to greet her. Captain T. S. Eckford, managing director of T. Eckford and Company, said that for her last trip the Echo had had a full cargo and this had contributed to her grounding. She will be unloaded tomorrow, after which she will be laid up pending possible sale.
