Grapes
Sir.—Grapes are a fruit that 1 am sure many New Zealanders, certainly myself included, would appreciate being able to buy more often and at a more reasonable price. For all but the four months of the year when there is a local supply of grapes, this valuable fruit is practically unobtainable. Yet it is often the only fruit a sick person can eat. So it is hard to understand why there should not be a shortage of grapes, as it should not be difficult to arrange imports from places like California Let’s have more grapes. A better supply of the fruit would mean that it could be bought at a more reasonable price, and many more sick persons would benefit.— Yours, etc., PATIENT. August 19, 1965.
