Industries Fair
Sir.—l went with my family to the Industries Fair last night and think it a most remarkable display of New Zealand products. It would be more appreciated if the stand holders could make them selves heard above the brutal ear-bashing from the broadcasting stand. Is the Broadcasting Corporation an industry that has to be encouraged above the manufacturers or is it that Big Brother has a monoply of sound?—Yours, etc. INDUSTRIAL FAIR PLAY. August 20, 1965.
[“The New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation has put in a great deal of work to have the best studio we have ever had at the fair,” said the secretary-manager of the fair (Mr R. T. Alston). “However. some problems of sound absorption have come up when attendances are light, as they were on Thursdav evening. The problems of volume control are being investigated and already improvements have been made.”]
