VENEZUELAN CURRENCY
Largest Coin To Disappear (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter) CARACAS. One of the world’s largest coins, Venezuela’s 5-bolivar piece (worth about 8s) may soon disappear. The director of the president’s Co-ordination and Planning Office said that the national mint planned to replace the 1} ounce silver coin with a small note. The reason for the change, he said, was that it was costing the Government too much to continue issuing the coin, whose intrinsic value was almost equal to the face value.
