Trimaran Overdue
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Aug. 20. The trimaran Roulette is two weeks overdue on a voyage from Wellington to Russell. The Roulette was due at Russell on August 6. She was last heard of about 10 days ago by Radio Auckland when she reported her position as
somewhere between East Cape and Cape Runaway. The Roulette left Dunedin on July 19, calling at Akaroa on the way to Wellington. The owner and skipper is Mr L. Burrows, who recently retired from the tourist business. With him are Messrs C. Pauline and J. Pubbin. All are members of the Invercargill Yacht Club.
Mr Burrows bought the trimaran only three weeks before the voyage started. It is 36 feet long with a beam of 20 feet and is ketch-rigged. She has no engine.
When he bought the vessel Mr Burrows said it had been built to a well-proved American design and that several of her class had made round-the-world voyages.
