Spearfishing Team Delayed
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, August 16. The New Zealand spearfishing team which was to have left Auckland for Tahiti tonight to compete in the world spearfishing championships has been delayed a day. The two Wellington members of the four-man team, Mr D. Timms (manager) and M. Blair, had to travel to Auckland tonight by rail when Wellington airport was closed.
They had the passports and visas of the Auckland members, W. Baldwin and D. Barnet
The team will leave Auckland tomorrow night and still have a few days to practice diving in Tahitian waters before the championships start.
