THIRD-FORM PUPILS

230 Accepted At Avonside

Third-form enrolments for 1966 considerably exceeded any previous third-form intake, said the deputy-chair-man (Mrs E. B. Dalmer) when she presented the principal’s report at the monthly meeting of the Avonside Girls’ High School board of governors yesterday afternoon. Two hundred and thirty applications had been accepted, and nine third-form classes, instead of the usual eight, would be required for next year. Mrs Dalmer reported that the headmistress (Miss P. M. Stevenson) was particularly pleased at the large majority of professional pupils in the entries.
