Hutt Merger Rejected
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 15. Petone, Upper Hutt and parts of Hutt county yesterday voted against amalgamation with Lower Hutt city. The poll was held in Lower Hutt, the only area to support the proposed amalgamation scheme.
Cake for Princess, —Princess Anne’s birthday cake will be made by a ship’s cook aboard the British Royal yacht Britannia, aboard which the Princess is celebrating her fifteenth birthday today. London, August 15.
