Three In Hospital After Accidents
Three persons were admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital after they had been injured in accidents in Christchurch during the week-end. Several others were treated at the Christchurch Hospital for minor injuries. Head Injuries.—Anne Johnston, of Bealey avenue, suffered head injuries when two cars collided at the corner of Kilmore and Colombo streets about 10.40 p.m. on Saturday. She was admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital. Both cars were extensively damaged and had to be removed by a breakdown truck.
Treated at Hospital.—Leg injuries were suffered by Brian Samuel Clegg, of 13 Tika street, when a motorcycle and car collided in Lincoln road on Saturday afternoon. He was treated at the Christchurch Hospital. Cars Collide.— Rupert Reginald Thorpe, of 10 Gayhurst road, suffered leg injuries when two cars collided at the corner of Gloucester street and Avonside drive about 6.15 p.m. yesterday. He was treated at the Christchurch Hospital.
Power-Cyclists Hurt.—Barry McCabe, of No. 2 R.D., Christchurch, was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital suffering from head injuries after a
power-cycle and a car collided in Cashmere road on Saturday afternoon. Harry John Kittelty, of 7 Oak street, Woolston, suffered arm and leg injuries when a power-cycle and car collided in Kearneys road. He was treated at the Christchurch Hospital. Injured In Bus.— When a bus braked in Racecourse road on Saturday afternoon, Edith Morgan, of 18 Rayburn avenue, suffered leg injuries. She was treated at the Christchurch Hospital. Motor-Cyclist Hurt.—Kevm Eatwell, of 10 Cardiff street, suffered leg injuries when his motor-cycle struck a stationary car in Somerfield street. He was treated at the Christchurch Hospital. The motorcycle was badly lamaged. Admitted To Hospital.— Head injuries were suffered by Edward George Russell, of 164 Brougham street, when his bicycle and a car collided at the corner of Hastings and Colombo streets about 5.30 p.m. on Saturday. He was admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital. Leg Injuries.—When a car and a truck collided at the corner of Stanmore road and Avonside drive about 1.45 p.m. on Saturday, Nora Mowatt, a passenger in the ear, suffered leg injuries. She was treated at the Christchurch Hospital.
