REUNION BALL
St. Andrew’s College Tartan sashes in vivid shades of red, green and gold were a colourful feature of the decorations at the Winter Garden for the St Andrew’s College annual reunion ball last evening. Brightly coloured balloons bobbing merrily, were in abundance. Blue bottles, tied with tartan ribbons and adorned with sprigs of heather, stood on the tables in the supper room. The foyer was decorated with a bank of flowering pot plants. More than 600 guests attended. They were welcomed by the president of the association (Mr A. W. Mann) and Mrs Mann. Specially invited guests included Mr and Mrs J. C. Wilton, representing St. Andrew's College Parent-Teacher Association, and representatives of the following kindred associations: —Christ’s College Old Boys’ Association: St. Margaret’s College Old Girls’ Association; Christchurch High School Old Boys’ Association: Timaru Boys’ High School Old Boys’ Association; Rangi-ruru Old Girls’ Association; Waitaki High School Old Boys’ Association; St Bede’s College Old Boys’ Association; Ashburton High School Past Pupils’ Association; John McGlashan College Old Boys’ Association; Christchurch West High School Past Pupils’ Association: and Columba Old Girls’ Association. Mrs Mann wore a Paris pink sheath gown in chiffon. Soft drapes which fell from the back shoulder line were caught with Dior roses. A slim-fitting long gown of black velvet shot with gold lurex and featuring a floating panel at the back was Mrs Wilton’s choice.
