VACANCIES—MALES STATISTICIAN NEW ZEALAND MEAT AND WOOL BOARD'S SHEEP AND BEEF CATTLE SURVEY, WELLINGTON APPLICATIONS are invited for the position of Statistician to the Survey which is an organisation of the New Zealand Wool Board and the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board for collecting and analysing data on disease. nutrition, breeding and animal husbandry as they affect the efficiency of production of sheep and beef cattle in New Zealand. DUTIES: The Statistician is in charge of the handling and analysis of the data and is expected to participate in the planning and design of projects. Collaboration with other workers in the animal production field is encouraged. The use of an electronic computer will be available. Collection of data is not involved. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: A graduate in Science, Agricultural Science, Arts or in appropriate disciplines with interest and ability in statistical analysis of survey data. Formal University training in Mathematics and Statistics would be an advantage as also would experience in one of the biological sciences. SALARY will be appropriate to the appointees qualifications and experience and will be reviewed annually. SUPERANNUATION: A subsidised scheme is available through the National Provident Fund.
