Golden Kiwi Tickets
Sir,—Last week when buying some demolition material from “The Limes” I noticed in one of the rooms several boxes of Golden Kiwi tickets. All these books seemed to be half used, i.e., both halves of some tickets were there, some had the ton (buyer’s) half missing. The one I took to make this inquiry is Ticket No. 1811. Lottery No. 93. What is the explanation for this?—Yours, etc., P.M.N. August 9, 1965. (Mr N. McArthur, secretary of 'Hammond and McArthur, Ltd., licensees for Golden Kiwi Lotteries, said: “This is quite possible, as some purchasers of lottery tickets in a hurry tear part of the agent’s butt with their ticket. The purchaser can only be penalised to the extent that part of his or her nom-de-plume or name and address could not be deciphered, and in this case the purchaser would only have to produce the ticket if a prize winner and the prize paid. All selling agents throughout the Dominion have to account for all tickets issued to them and no draw can take place until all tickets are fully sold.”]
