Fish Factory At Nelson
(N.Z. Press Association) NELSON, August 11. New Zealand Sea Products, Ltd., would build a factory in Nelson, its directors announced today. For weeks there had been speculation that the factory, estimated to cost £500,000, would be built at Picton. A director, Mr J. C. Treadwell, said in a telephone interview from Wellington that Nelson had been chosen as the site “because we felt that Nelson had the potential for expansion we envisage.” Construction would begin in January, he said. Initially there would be a staff of between 70 and 100.
