Champion Suspended

(N.Z P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) Caracas, August 11. Carlos Hernandez, of Venezuela, the world junior welter-weight boxing champion, has been suspended for a year by the Caracas Boxing Commission. The decision to suspend the 26-year-old Hernandez, who was on Monday named “Fighter of the Month” by the World Boxing Association, was made by the commission after it had proved allegations that the champion had often been drunk in public.
