Obituary

MR L. F. McELROY The death occurred recently in Auckland of Mr L. F. McElroy, who was head of the horticultural department at Lincoln College for several years. He was 49. Mr McElroy was educated in England and gained his national diploma in horticulture at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. He rose to the rank of captain in the Second World War and served with Major-Gen-eral Wingate’s forces in Burma. Later he was an instructor in the Royal Artillery. At the time of his death, Mr McElroy was landscape officer for the Auckland district of the Ministry of Works.
