UNIVERSITY DEBATING
N.Z. Team For! Australia The New Zealand univer-' sities’ debating team will I leave Christchurch today for' a three weeks’ visit to Aus-' tralia. This evening the team will debate against. Melbourne! University immediately after arrival and on Sunday it will' be in Adelaide for the Aus- 1 tralian Universities’ Arts Festival, which will last four days. There it will compete against universities from all states. Later other debates will be held at the universities of Sydney and Newcastle. To end the tour the New Zealand team will debate against Australia for the Tasman Cup.
The New Zealand team is: Messrs F. McElrea (law. Otago), J. Bluck (arts. Canterbury), and R. Simons (medicine. Otago). They were chosen after New Zealand trials last Easter.
