TRAFFIC ON FLYOVER

No Cyclists, Pedestrians The new flyover at the Moorhouse avenue-Colombo street intersection is for motor-vehicles only, and cyclists and pedestrians are required to use the old road, the Christchurch City Council’s Traffic Superintendent (Mr J. F. Thomas) said yesterday. Similarly, traffic turning left or right at the intersection must pass on the left of the structure and use the old road. Through traffic proceeding along Moorhouse avenue is to use the flyover. Mr Thomas said the flyover was working very well and had relieved the congestion at the intersection. At present traffic officers were standing by at peak periods in case they should be needed.
