Extra Weather Service

"The Press" Special Service WELLINGTON, August 10. A further Dominion weather forecast will be broadcast daily on the N.Z.B.C.’s national programme. It will be at 4 p.m. and will start on Monday. The deputy director-general of broadcasting, Mr L. R. Sceats, said that the corporation and meteorological service have long been aware that the gap on the National programme from the 12.30 to 9 p.m. forecast was too long. “Until now the meteorological service has been faced with practical difficulties in making the mid-afternoon forecast,” said Mr Sceats. Mr Sceats said there would probably be some slight delays with the forecast during winter months when national stations were giving Rugby commentaries.
