CLASH IN CHURCH

(N.Z.P. A. -Reuter —Copyright) OSTEND, August 9. Riot police were called to a church yesterday when French-speaking Walloons and Flemish Belgians clashed in the country’s language war. A number of policemen were injured and seven Walloons were arrested. The row started when the priest in his sermon changed from Flemish to French. About 150 Flemish demonstrators interrupted him by loudly chanting hymns in Flemish. They refused to leave the church.
