AUTO CYCLE UNION
1 More Members Wanted <N.Z Press Association > WELLINGTON, August 8 The New Zealand Auto Cycle Union could become the automobile association of motor-cycling. The union's annual conference in Wellington at the week-end, decided to investigate ways of increasing substantially its membership from 1000. One possible avenue which a special committee will examine, is a constitutional change whereby the union can be on the lines of an automobile association instead of as now, primarily a sporting organisation. There are an estimated 30.000 registered motor-cycle owners in New Zealand. Mr J. Callender, of New Plymouth, was elected president and Mr A. M. Laurenson. of Timaru. vice-presi--1 dent.
