£2000 Painting

An oil painting by the Australian artist, Sydney Nolan, has been bought by the Dunedin Public Art Gallery Council for £2OOO. A £1 for £1 subsidy for it has been approved by the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Advisory Council. The painting, “The Riverbank,” is one of the Ned Kelly series started by Nolan in 1948.—(P. A.)
