“FELT AT HOME”
After-Game Reception 'N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Aug. 1. Speaking at the official dinner after the first test on Saturday, Mr J. F. Lpuw, manager of the South African Rugby team, thanked Messrs T. C. Morrison, T. H. Pearce, M. R. Love and P. T. Walsh for going to South Africa during the Jubilee celebrations. “Thank you for your courage: thank you for coming to a country no-one else wants to visit or no-one else wants to know anything about. “From the moment we arrived in Gisborne to the wonderful reception from the Maoris we have felt at home in this country. “Here you have a wonderful country with a wonderful future.” Noting the presence of the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) and the Leader of the Opposition (Mr Nordmeyer) he added: “People are willing to accept us from both sides of the House. Through various factors it is often thought that people want little tc do with us. “It is no use going to Mars or the moon, or anywhere else in space, to find a place to live. You already have ii here.”
