THREAT TO JOHNSON
Former Convict Gaoled (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) AMARILLO (Texas), August 1. A 36-year-old former convict has been sentenced to three years’ gaol on a charge of threatening the life of President Johnson. He is Waiter Daniel Hendrikson, who pleaded guilty to the charge before a Federal court. Hendrikson, who has had several aliases, was arrested by F. 8.1. agents in an Amarillo motel room on July 9. having been the subject of a nation-wide search since April 15. A letter bearing his signature was received at the White House on April 15. It said in part: “This is to inform you your turn will come. I will do a better job than Oswald (who assassinated President Kennedy) and will succeed in escaping.”
