Complaint Of Threat

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 27. Armed detectives in a dozen patrol cars chased a car at high speed through the streets of Mount Roskill late tonight. The chase was after a complaint from Mr C. H. Harris, of 20 Gregory place, Mount Roskill, that a man had threatened him with a rifle. A car was pursued along Melrose road, Hillsborough road, Buckland road and Three Kings road. The driver turned into Queensway, a blind road, and was boxed in by four police cars.

The man was apprehended. No weapon other than a 4ft iron bar was found in the car.
