Power Up In Lower Hutt
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 28. The Hutt Valley Electric Power and Gas Board will increase domestic consumer rates by 8 per cent. The chairman (Mr P. Dowse) said tonight that industrial and commercial rates would be increased by 9 per cent. No increase would be made in storage space heating, he said. The new rates would be effective after the November readings. The board’s deficit last year was £127,000.
