The position is one of considerable responsibility, the Waterworks Engineer being responsible for the maintenance and operation of 6 main pumping stations, and over 100 miles of mains. The population of the County is 50,000 and is increasing at the rate of approximately 3000 per year, with the result that extensions to the present svstem are required to be designed and constructed. It is not essential that the applicants be Civil Engineers and qualified Engineers from other branches of the profession would be considered providing they have a sound knowledge of hydraulics and pumping equipment. The salary ranges £1561 to £2031. The commencing salary within this range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
