10 Collisions In Three Hours

Ten collisions occurred in Christchurch within three hours last evening. Six persons were injured in five of the collisions.

A pedestrian, Mr W. Nelson, aged 85, of 26 Picton avenue, suffered concussion when hit by a car at the corner of Clarence and Burdale streets about 6.50 p.m. He ■ 'as admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital. Mr S. Cosmatoes, of 20 Greenhurst street, suffered internal injuries when his

motor-cycle and a car collided at the corner of Riccarton road and Rimu street about 6.52 p.m. He was admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital. Two men were injured when two cars collided at the corner of Redruth avenue and Selwyn street about 9 p.m. Mr P. Brown, of 15 Poynder avenue, suffered facial injuries. Mr J. Harris, care 446 Harewood road, suffered head injuries. He was admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital. One of the cars overturned and both were extensively damaged. Mr Brown was treated and discharged. Mr J. Gibbald, of 50 Severn street, suffered minor head injuries, when he was hit by a car while walking on Domain terrace about 6.30 p.m. Graham Paynter, of 33 Flesher avenue, suffered minor facial injuries when his bicycle and a car collided at the corner of Porat and Alexander streets about 6.50 p.m.
