SEPARATED

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 22. The Mayor and Mayoress of Auckland, Mr and Mrs D. M. Robinson, have entered into a mutual separation agreement, they announced today. A joint statement issued by their lawyers said: “It is announced that Mr and Mrs D. M. Robinson have entered into a mutual separation agreement. “Mrs Robinson left the Mater Hospital this morning

and will continue to reside in Auckland, but will no longer carry out official duties. “Some of the Mayoress’s duties will be carried out by the wives of councillors willing to do so, and by Mrs Joan Hunter, married daughter of the Mayor. “Mrs Robinson desired to state for herself that, in spite of the domestic differences, she still acknowledged her husband’s civic achievements and hoped the electors would support him at the coming municipal elections and so enable him to continue to serve the city.” Mr and Mrs Robinson were married in 1959.
