NORTH NEW BRIGHTON

Better Streets Needed Some improvement in the condition of streets in North New Brighton was desirable, the works committee acknowledged in its report to the City Council on a petition from 80 residents of Pacific road, Tedder avenue and Britannia street. Work contemplated in the area this year was concrete kerb and channels in Tedder avenue, Effingham street and Pacific road and carriageway reconstruction in Pacific road, the committee said. In recent years there had been considerable upgrading of streets in North New Brighton. General complaints by the petitions of unsightly and unkept sections had been referred to the City Engineer (Mr P. G. Scoular) to see if action was required under the town planning regulations, the committee said.
