Subsidy For Student Hall
(From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, July 19. Christchurch College, the residential hall of the Church of England now being built on the Ham campus of the University of Canterbury, is the first to benefit under the more generous subsidies promised in the Budget. The Minister of Education (Mr Kinsella) today approved an increase of £28,000, raising the subsidy from £144,000 to £172,800.
The new policy allows up to 80 per cent subsidy to a maximum of £1440 a place.
