‘In Nasty Mood’
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 20. By midnight most of the prisoners had abandoned the exercise yard to find shelter in the wings. The superintendent, Mr E. G. Buckley, who had been on the scene for more than 21 hours, said the cells would be wet and cold. He expected the men “would be in a thoroughly nasty mood” after a few more hours back in their cells.
