Squash Captain.—The management committee of the New Zealand Squash Rackets Association has appointed F. N. Coe. of Timaru, as manager of the New Zealand men's team to play in the Australian championships at Hobart next month. Race Record.—The Victorian Olympic cyclist. John Young, broke the Melbourne to Adelaide cycling record on Tuesday when he completed the 465-mile journey in 34hr 51min. Regained Title.—Ken Rosewall regained the United States professional tennis championship on Monday when he beat Rod Laver. 6-4, 6-3, 6-3. Cricket Award.—The Australian pacebowler, N. J. Hawke, was presented with a “Cricketer of the Year" award in Sydney on Monday. It was given bv the Queensland Peanut Marketing Board. Injured In Collision.—Mr R. F. Curtin, of 55 Jollie street suffered Arm. leg and rib Injuries when his motorcycle and a car collided at the intersection of Ferry road and Wilsons road about 5.25 p.m. yesterday. Mr Curtin was treated at the Christchurch Hospital and discharged.
