Coles Profit A Record
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, July 20. G. J. Coles and Company, Ltd., today announced a record group net profit of £4,125,000 for the year to June 30—the second largest profit ever earned by an Australian retailing group. It is only eclipsed by the Myer group result in 1964 of £4,632,835. The peak profit from Coles —one of the “Big Two” in variety chain store, supermarket, and food marketing groups—shows a rise of almost 9 per cent (£336,000) on the previous year.
