CARNEGIE GRANTS

Four Awards In N.Z. (N Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 20. Four New Zealanders have been given travel grants in the field of education by the Carnegie Corporation, the United States Information Service announced today. They are: Mr E. N. Bracey, of Hamilton Teachers’ College, to study art education; Mr R. Matthews, of the University of Auckland, to study plant viruses and the teaching of undergraduate medical microbiology: Mr W. J. McEldowney of the University of Otago, university librarian, and Mr P. B. A, Sim, of the University of Auckland, to study legal education. The grants are intended to allow the recipients to become acquainted with colleagues and recent developments in their own fields in the United States and Canada.
