Singing Nun Not Singing

(Special Crspdt. N.Z.P.A.) LONDON, July 20. The Singing Nun is singing no more, says the “Evening Standard.” Two years ago her records were at the top of the hit parade; but now she has resumed the life of a recluse, studying for her career as a missionary worker in the field. “Things have changed since December, 1963, when reporters were allowed inside the convent to film and interview the 30-year-old nun,” the newspaper says.

At that time more than a million recordings of her song, “Dominique,” a bantering ballad about the founder of the Dominican Order, had been sold. Today the sales have dropped to almost nothing.
