Gosset St. Trees

Lime trees will remain in Gosset street, St Albans, and there will be a minimum amount of pruning this season. This decision of the City Council last evening resolved a difference of opinion among residents of the street Some wanted the trees removed, other wanted them taken out and replaced by other trees, and others preferred to have the trees left as they are.

The reserves committee was asked to arbitrate on two occasions. It told \ the residents that until unanimity was reached the council would take no action other than the usual pollarding of the trees. This was not accepted by the residents who want the trees removed, so the committee made an inspection recently and as a result made the recommendation accepted by the council.
