Primary School TV

The primary school programmes to be presented during the demonstrations of closed-circuit television at the Christchurch Teachers’ College at the end of the month are even more varied than those for post-primary classes. There will be a French lesson for Form I pupils, application of an individual Binet intelligence test, a demonstration of Cuisenaire rods in teaching numbers to infant classes, and a co-operative play session with a deaf child. Stimulation of observation by a discussion on New Zealand fish will precede arith-

metic for Standard 1 and then will come a demonstration of coiled pottery. Music for Standard 1 will take the form of movement and singing. Air science and flight will be related in a Form I lesson. Methods of rescue-breathing resuscitation will be displayed.

There will also be lecturedemonstrations on papiermache forms, drawing of a block diagram, and basic body mechanics.

These programmes wil] be screened for Teachers’ College students on July 28 and 'or teachers and visitors on July 29.
