Women Encouraged To Travel By Air
To coax more women to fly, British European Airways has launched a new women’s travel service to dispel any fears they may have that flying is a complicated and expensive business.
The service has been launched with an advertising campaign in two women’s magazines. By filling in a coupon, the potential passenger obtains a 20-page women’s air travel guide. Results have been encouraging. The main problems discussed are what to wear and how to cope with children while in the air. Besides answering these and other questions, the booklet contains information ranging from national dishes to packaging hints and rates of exchange. ' So far 75.000 copies have been printed. In addition to this, B.E.A. has opened an inquiry bureau
at one of Its London sales offices, where six girls are ready to answer questions and give advice. Other staff deal with correspondence and telephone inquiries.
