THIS AMETHYST CLUSTER—as big as a pumpkin—was found in a Canterbury riverbed. Mr D. R. Gregg who is holding it, is Keeper of Geology at Canterbury Museum. He is cataloguing the museum’s mineral collection, and hopes that “rock hounds” may be able to help fill any gaps.
