Tourist Bureau Receipts Rise

The Christchurch Tourist Bureau showed an increase of <155.714 ( 28.2 per cent) over the previous year's sales, according to the report of the Tourist and Publicity Department for the year ended March 31. 1965. This follows an increase of 20 per cent shown in last year's report over a simitar gain for the year ending March 31, 1043. The report says that the growing importance of Christchurch as a point of tourist entry is seen as a contributory factor towards the increase. Coach-tour operations were double those of the previous year.
